Ormond Beach Real Estate is a Well Kept Secret
Ormond Beach Florida is a beautiful community located just to the north of Daytona Beach and just south of Palm Coast. It is the Birthplace of Speed with automobile speed records set on the beach in 1908, and was the winter home of John D. Rockefeller from 1918 until his death in 1937. Today Ormond Beach is a vibrant community of over 38,000 people with an active art scene, Tomoka State Park, beachside and riverside parks, and great youth sports programs.
Real Estate in Ormond Beach experienced the same speculative run-up experienced by most of Florida and the Daytona Beach Area. Fueled by easy credit and many out of town speculators, prices doubled between 2003 and 2005 and over 700 homes sold in the 2nd quarter of 2005. Since then median home prices have fallen and sales volume plummeted.
With great weather, beaches and rivers, boating, great restaurants, low crime, great golf, Ormond Beach is a well kept secret. Ormond Beach schools are excellent and preferred by many in the area. Many people know of Daytona Beach, but Ormond could be the real gem of the area.
Ormond Beach Homes for Sale include many moderately priced homes and condos up to beachfront mansions that rival those anywhere in Florida. Oceanfront Ormond Beach condos run for miles up the ocean. There are also many modestly priced condos on the west side of A1A with walk-overs to the beach. While Daytona condominiums include many high rise buildings, Ormond has height restrictions that limit building heights to 75 feet or seven stories.
Ormond Beach houses for sale are available in many smaller developments and large planned communities including Ormond Lakes, Halifax Plantation, Plantation Bay, Breakaway Trails, The Trails, and Hunter’s Ridge. Halifax Plantation has an 18 hole golf course, and Plantation Bay has 45 holes of golf.
